Google Tour Builder a new way to show people places in the world using Google Earth. It lets you pick the locations right on the map, choose the street or aerial view you want to show, add in photos, text, and video, and then share your creation.
Storytelling with maps using Google Tour Builder shows the basic steps to get started with building a Google Earth Tour
- Students can map the path traveled by a character in a novel such as the Odyssey or The Alchemist
- Students can plan a theoretical trip through a continent or a country and highlight important locations
- Students can show the important locations from a period of history such as the Thirty Years War or World War II
- Students can create visual word problems such as the distance traveled between two locations and time to travel, etc
- Students can trace the path of famous people in history such as Hannibal or Magellan
